The USBC Women’s Championship tournament with Steltronic scoring kicked off on April 12th, 2013 in Reno Nevada at the Reno-Sparks convention center. This year the tournament expects upwards to about 6000 teams (of 5 players) each, and then continuing on to doubles and singles events.
This year marks the 94th running of the tournament and runs until July 1st, with this year’s event making it’s 8th return to Reno. The Women’s tournament will be run three years consecutively in Reno which started in 2012.
The convention center now runs 44 lanes of standard tenpin bowling, with enough lumber used to build five 3-bedroom homes, and the electricity necessary for the tournament could run up to ten homes.
Bowlers from all 50 states along with a few neighboring international countries will bowl in the event with a 2 million dollar prize fund at stake.
