Next-Level Bowling: Kenmore Lanes Upgrades Again in 2025

Kenmore Lanes: Celebrating 23 Years of Bowling with a New Upgrade

Kenmore Lanes: A Legacy of Innovation in the Pacific Northwest

Step into Kenmore Lanes in Kenmore, Washington, where over two decades of bowling tradition are matched by a steadfast commitment to technological excellence. For 23 years, Kenmore Lanes has trusted Steltronic to power their automatic scoring and management systems, reflecting a shared vision for quality and forward-thinking innovation.

Their journey began in July 2002, when they first embraced Steltronic’s cutting-edge WINS scoring technology. Now, in 2025, they are once again upgrading their system—reaffirming their dedication to staying ahead of the curve and continuing to provide a top-tier experience for every bowler.

We’re proud to celebrate this long-standing partnership with Kenmore Lanes and look forward to what the future holds in this ongoing story of progress.

We purchased our first WINS system from Steltronic back in 2002 which had static graphics for the bowling graphics, and in 2009 we moved up the WINS system with animated animations, and now we're upgrading to the newest Focus-NEX system for the most advanced system from Steltronic.

Kenmore Lanes: 23 Years of Scoring Strong – Now Upgrading for What’s Next

From Elex to Super Elex to Vision: A Legacy of Lane Innovation

When Kenmore Lanes first partnered with Steltronic in 2002, their original scoring system featured Elex lane computers paired with CRT monitors and static graphics. At the time, this setup delivered a reliable and straightforward scoring experience that suited the center’s needs perfectly. As technology progressed, Kenmore Lanes upgraded in 2007 to the Super Elex lane computer system—bringing animated graphics for strikes, spares, and exciting pinfall moments. This leap forward enhanced the player experience and marked their first major step in modernizing the lanes.

The Eye Behind the Score: SCIBA to PinCam

From the beginning, SCIBA cameras were installed above each lane, providing reliable pin detection and scoring accuracy. These original cameras have performed consistently for over two decades. However, with the rise of glow-in-the-dark pins and cosmic bowling effects, Steltronic responded in 2011 with the introduction of the PinCam, a new camera system capable of detecting pinfall even under black light conditions. As part of their 2025 upgrade, Kenmore Lanes will install the PinCam system, ensuring accurate scoring in all lighting environments.

Powering the Experience: New Lane Computers and Servers

To support the advanced performance of the upcoming Vision Lane Computers, Kenmore Lanes is making a significant infrastructure investment. In June 2025, their 50-lane center will be outfitted with all-new lane computers, along with a dedicated Steltronic server to manage scoring, graphics, and system performance seamlessly. This powerful back-end will also support their two front desk workstations and a back office computer, which handles daily reporting and league data. With this upgrade, Kenmore Lanes ensures smooth operation, scalability, and future-ready performance for years to come.
